The following activities are kid-friendly workouts designed to increase muscular strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. Feel free to modify the workouts as needed!
Playground Fitness- No equipment needed. Kids love this one because it incorporates the play structure into the workout.
Rock-Paper-Scissors Fitness- No equipment needed. This fun workout incorporates rock-paper-scissors into cardio and strength building exercises. It also encourages students to work on locomotor movements.
Card Suit Aerobics- You'll need 4 cones or hula hoops, 1-2 decks of playing cards, and a white board. Each suit represents an exercise, & the # on the card represents how many times the exercise should be done. (ex- 10 hearts= 10 jumping jacks)
Dice Fitness-You'll need 2 dice for every 3-4 students. Students roll both dice to find out which exercise to do. Then, roll both dice again to find out how many times they will do the exercise.
Partner Workout-No equipment needed. This is a great class mixer because students will do each exercise with a new partner.
